Online Resources Available from the Missouri State Library
Book Connections and TeachingBooks are available statewide including all Missouri public libraries, K-12 schools and colleges and universities.
Book Connections is for public libraries. TeachingBooks is for schools and academic institutions.
These resources use geo-location; therefore, login or authentication is not required for patron access.
These databases contain resources to engage readers from over 260,000 books including Meet-the-Author movies, audio name pronunciations, audio book readings, discussion guides, vocabulary lists, and more. These are perfect tools to use with book clubs, class units, reading groups, and reader’s advisory.
Book Connections logos, buttons, and information about providing access from the library website is available at Embedding Book Connections on Your Site on the Help & Support page.
VetNow is available to state aid certified public libraries. It is a service that offers tailored support to veterans and their families. The service includes live support with a veteran navigator; online expert assistance navigating the VA and benefits veterans are eligible for from local, state, and federal programs; help with transitioning to civilian employment and translating military skills for civilian jobs; and college preparation and support through a full suite of academic tools.
Library-specific links are available at MO Libraries VN. Scroll down to select your library. Promotional resources, including images, are available at MO VetNow.
The subscriptions are supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
